report site security / age check problem

This is something that's only just started happening in the last few days ...

I use SendToReader to send posts from LiveJournal, and fanfiction from Archive Of Our Own, to my Kindle. For both these sites I am logged in, viewing a post, but when I click SendToReader on my toolbar I get a Kindle book that is the content that someone not logged in would see.

For LiveJournal it gives: "Adult Content Notice The content that you are about to view could contain adult concepts which may not be suitable for minors. To continue, you must confirm that you are at least 14 years of age"

For AO3 it gives: "Archive of Our Own ยป works show This work potentially has adult content. If you proceed you have agreed that you are willing to see such content ..."

I can still paste the text of a page [NOT the URL, just tried that and get the age-check messages] into the 'compose' screen on the sendToReader site -- but it was the one-click functionality that really hooked me on SendToReader and I'm sorry not to be able to use it any more.

The workaround is described at http://sendtoreader.com/blog/announcements/sending-selection-kindle-single-click/. In short, select the text you'd like to send and click the bookmarklet. One more thing, I've noticed that it's faster and easier to select text from bottom to top, at least in FF and Chrome.

thanks for letting me know about the problem, I do know about it and most likely will correct it during one of the next updates.

Sergey,

You know me under another name...but I'm one of SENDtoREADER's "heavy users" and am having the same problem with the same sites. It's not fixed as of 8/5/11 but I hope it will be soon.

I didn't want a workaround -- the whole point of having a one-click send, for me, is to avoid selecting chunks of text on blog-style pages!

I'll still be using SendToReader's 'compose' function, which is great, but luckily there are other 'send to Kindle' add-ons which let me send 'adult only' (!) text with a single click, without needing to highlight anything.

This functionality does not work. Instead of selected text sending all page.
Im use addon SendToReader 1.6 - https://addons.mozilla.org/ru/firefox/addon/sendtoreader/
Ubuntu 12.04, Firefox 12.
SENDtoREADER, 17.05.2012, 14:43
"Send selection" is the bookmarklet's feature, it does not exist in addons yet.
Sorbing, 17.05.2012, 16:24
Tell me please where to get bookmarklet?
Will it work to send the selected text in addon SendToReader?
Thanks.
Sorbing, 17.05.2012, 16:38
Already found, thank you.
But will it work in the addon?
SENDtoREADER, 17.05.2012, 16:54
Addon is a separate product, so the only thing I can tell you for sure now - I've added the "send selection" feature to the todo list.
